Can't load Karaoke

[ Back ] [ Reply ] [ Log On ]
Hi all,
It seems that with version 4.5 and 5.0 I can't load any karaoke songs when there are more than 30 or so.
Initially, I had a machine set up running Windows XP with DigitalCenter installed a few months ago and it worked great, with around 50,000 songs on it and 24,000 karaoke tracks.

Eventually, Zenpoint stopped working, and I could not click add to playlist or play now, so I re-installed Zenpoint after deleting the folder in program files and it seemed to work fine, but since then, I've never been able to load the karaoke files. The machine is now running Windows 7 64-bit with 6GB of RAM and Zenpoint 5.0

I've tried it with the zip files, I've tried it with mp3 and cdg files and have 0 songs listed each time. The folders are set up so that there are several subdirectories (i,e sunfly/collection/disk1) and so forth. If I specify an individual folder, it will load those songs, but beyond loading 2 or 3 folders of say 12 songs per folder, it will stop working.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I resolved the problem. You just need to give it time to load. It loaded all my cdg songs.

can anyone tell me how to import my karaoke zip file library, my files are set as karaoke industry standard i.e diskid -artist-title, which i thought this would be the best for this, but according to the manual says it has to be JUST the title...why just the title i don't understand, people tend to look for the artist before the song title, anyway it still doesn't import my 10000 file library...any help is appreciated

when reading the id3 tag it pulls the artist from the "album artist" tag instead of just the "artist" tag. Using mp3tag you can import the "artist" tag over to "album artist" tag by using a script.i downloaded mp3tag and then googled how to do the import.  There was nothing to it.

I have about 25,000 straight mp3/cdg in folders.  I have to click on karaoke center about three times to get my songs to come up.  It tries to load and then quits after awhile (showing nothing loaded).  If I keep opening KC they will eventually load.  I thought maybe allowing the screensaver to come up was killing them to load but I'm not for sure on that.

Well i think i have found the issue , when you start the karaoke center it seems to want to import music not the karaoke files, i noticed this when putting in a video directory and starting video center it only scans the movie directory which is right. So why does Karaoke center scan my music directory when i have a directory for karaoke only. Anyone else notice this ?

When you start any of the centers it checks for changes each time. When you try to load the karaoke center it looks like it's hung, but it hasn't. Just wait several minutes and then suddenly all of the songs appear. To stop this from taking so long each time, after you've loaded them once, go into DigitalCenter Administration, select MusicCenter from the left hand side and then deselect 'Check for music updates on startup'. When you now load the karaoke center it will do it much faster as it's not checking for new content everytime and so uses a cache. Obviously if you add new content in the future you'll need to temporarily enable the setting again. My karaoke center now takes <3 seconds to load.
